“Providing technical assistance to educational teams and families who serve learners with combined hearing and vision loss in Kansas."

About Us
-
The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has awarded The Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB) federal grant funding to support the Kansas Deaf-Blind Project.
-
The Project is housed on the KSSB campus and is an extension of KSSB's field services.
-
The project has remained at the center in establishing statewide collaborative partnerships that promote outcomes for learners with deaf-blindness.
-
The outcomes of these partnerships have increased opportunities for technical assistance, training and support for Kansas families, educators and service providers.
The Kansas Deaf-Blind Project
-
The Kansas Deaf-Blind Project staff, consultants, advisory council, collaborating agencies, and organizations work to assure that identified children and young adults (birth through 21 years) with deaf-blindness, their families, educators, and support providers receive the technical assistance and services needed. The Kansas Deaf-Blind Project continues to promote evidence and research-based education practices, document student, family and service provider outcomes, build on systematic change efforts and align services for children and young adults in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).
